PEACE AND AGAIN I SAY PEACE

It saddens me when I hear about a young six year old killed at the hands of the police. I mourn not only her death but the innocence of humanity. Is this what we have come to. We kill our neighbors kids in the name of political violence and parties.
That child didn't even get the chance to graduate from primary school. She has missed out on so many moments . She didn't get a chance to go to highschool , dance at funkiest , probably get a boyfriend after high school ,fall madly in love for the first time , get heartbroken , find Mr Right and finally settle down and become a mother.
All this was stolen from her.All the simple pleasures in life .
Meanwhile in the other side of town, seats Mr Raila who is busy dealing with the reality of the situation and the next step.He may feel sympathy for your loss but that is all .Mr Uhuru is probably sipping whiskey celebrating his victory. He is also touched by your loss but that is it.He has more pressing issues to deal with.Let us not forget Mr Matiang'i he is busy giving statements that begs more questions than answers to the press.
Am I supposed to believe a six year old is a criminal ? Mr Matiang'i seriously !!!!!
Back to the matter at hand .. we the people are the ones who pay the highest price when we fail to let peace prevail. We are the ones who loss a father,a mother,a brother ,a sister ,a husband .... I can go on but you get the point.
You are the one who gets robbed by thieves who take advantage of the situation.
You will walk around with pain, anger and frustrations because of all you have lost.It will break you.
At the end of the day ,it doesn't matter whether you were set on going to "Canaan" or on giving Jubilee "tano freshi" . What matters is that we maintain peace , just because we disagree on political matters doesn't mean we are sworn enemies.
Let us aspire to love each other but if we can't then let us atleast value life.It is just a simple humane courtesy.Remember slaying your brother doesn't mean you have now won.
As a mother I feel for the parents who lost their kids. I hope God gives them the Justice and peace they seek .
Let us keep the kids out of this. They are so innocent and too precious to be tainted by political rivalry .We can do better, should aspire to be better and remember Kenya is bigger than two political parties.
